Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as Springport did.
Springport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Dyer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Dyer is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Rainey, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Quincy still got an impressive performance from Grant Carter, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was James Maynard, who scored six points.
Springport's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Quincy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springport will take on Colon at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Quincy, they will be playing at home against Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sand Creek is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
