Neville extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating Wossman, 49-6. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Tigers.
Neville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Diarse threw for 122 and one touchdown and Andre Fuller II had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Diarse chipped in 103 yards. Kylon Highshaw helped Neville's passing attack out by catching two balls for 33 yards.
Bastrop's Jaetarious Davis and Jatavious Wilson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 1565 yards this season, while Wilson, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 47 catches for 860 yards. Mickey Mccarty's team's Diarse leads the league in rushing yards with 636.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Neville takes on second place Franklin Parish. Last week, the Tigers topped the Wildcats, while Franklin Parish beat Delhi Charter.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Patriots take on Neville. Franklin Parish has allowed 125 points this season, while the Tigers have given up 59. Barry Sebren's team allowed 12 points last week as it defeated the Gators.
Wossman made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,923 from 5,379. The advance stemmed from a 49-6 victory over Dale Zimmerman's team last week.
