Laurel-Concord-Coleridge had already won 11 in a row and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They came within a single  set of losing the streak, but they secured  a   3-2 W against the Stanton Mustangs. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered  a  2-0  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 23-25,  15-9.
 Rena Rasmussen paced Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's offense, picking up 26 kills. Rasmussen got some help from  Carlie Kvols and her 48 assists. Finally,  Tyler Recob kept Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.
 Despite the  loss, Stanton saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Hazel Schellpeper  had 12  digs. Those 12  digs set a new season-high mark for  Schellpeper.  Karsyn Dusatko also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  block of the season.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's win bumped their record up to 31-3. As for Stanton,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 23-9.
 Looking ahead, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will challenge Norfolk Catholic at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Stanton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
