Alexander Central is a perfect 9-0 against Ashe County since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will challenge the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Alexander Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.

While Alexander Central's win against Bunker Hill wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Wednesday. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Ashe County came up short against East Surry on Wednesday and fell 7-4.

Ally Greer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Nadilyn Eason, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Alexander Central pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.9 runs this season. As for Ashe County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Alexander Central took their win against Ashe County in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
