Mesa Verde is 2-8 against the Rams since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mesa Verde Mavericks will be playing at home against the Dixon Rams at 7:30 p.m. Mesa Verde has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
Last Monday, Mesa Verde suffered a tough 74-52 loss at the hands of the Rams. While losing is never fun, Mesa Verde can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1321st, while the Rams are ranked 383rd).
Despite the loss, Mesa Verde had strong showings from Ryan Jorgensen, who scored 14 points, and Mathew Garcia, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Dauphine, who scored eight points.
Dixon won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 80-49 loss at the hands of Casa Roble. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dixon in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.
Mesa Verde's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Dixon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-13.
Mesa Verde might still be hurting after the 68-42 defeat they got from the Rams in their previous matchup back in January. Will Mesa Verde have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
