The Moorcroft Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Sundance on the road and fell 56-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Moorcroft has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Moorcroft's loss came despite strong showings from Liberty Cook and Natalee Scribner. Cook scored two points along with five blocks and two steals, while Scribner scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Moorcroft struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sundance pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Savanna Williams had a dynamite game for Sundance, scoring 20 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Jaylin Mills was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Moorcroft has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Sundance, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Moorcroft's road trip will continue as they head out to face Buffalo at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Buffalo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. As for Sundance, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Burns at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Burns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
