Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Skates Past Ravenna with Ease

Roosevelt posted their biggest win since December 5, 2023 on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 60-33 stomp they got against the Ravenna Ravens. That's more bragging rights for the Rough Riders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Roosevelt to victory were Jaden Dennison and Gavin Peeps. Dennison went 7 of 12 en route to 23 points, while Peeps went 7 of 9 on his way to 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Dennison is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Ryan Slocum was another key player, putting up eight points.

Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Ravenna, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-42 loss against Cuyahoga Falls on the 3rd. As for Ravenna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-44 defeat against Crestwood on the 30th.
