Softball Recap: Southeast Wins Going Away Against Chagrin Falls

Southeast's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chagrin Falls Tigers as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.

Liv Bragg made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Bella Mowery was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Morgan Muncy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Southeast hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.

Southeast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chagrin Falls, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Southeast will square off against Columbiana at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Clippers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Chagrin Falls, they will face off against Laurel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
