Choudrant has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Claiborne Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Choudrant will be strutting in after a win while Claiborne Christian will be coming in after a defeat.
You can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Choudrant's strategy against Downsville on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Choudrant blew Downsville out of the water with a 54-18 final score. Given Choudrant's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Downsville is ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Claiborne Christian suffered a rough 78-53 defeat at the hands of Gibsland-Coleman on Tuesday. Claiborne Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Choudrant's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-12. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Claiborne Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-12 record this season.
Choudrant strolled past Claiborne Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 63-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Choudrant since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
