Portsmouth came out on top against Gallia Academy on Monday thanks in part to Katie Ankrom's efforts. Ankrom wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was her eighth straight with five or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Ankrom and Portsmouth are taking a road trip to challenge Rock Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
