Scales Mound is 8-2 against Stockton since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Scales Mound Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Stockton Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Scales Mound is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Illinois (they are ranked 263rd, while Stockton is ranked 636th).
Last Friday, Scales Mound came up short against East Dubuque and fell 62-54.
Despite the loss, Scales Mound got a solid performance out of Thomas Hereau, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Hereau hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Evan Cogan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stockton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-28 loss at the hands of Lena-Winslow.
Scales Mound's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Stockton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 18 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
Scales Mound took their win against Stockton in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 63-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scales Mound since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
