Softball Recap: Rangeview Comes Up Short

Rangeview lost against George Washington back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Raiders came up short against the Patriots, falling 30-15. On the bright side, the 15- run performance marked the Raiders' highest-scoring match to date.

Jimena Vasquez and Diana Esquivel did some serious damage despite the final result: Vasquez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Esquivel got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Esquivel has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devyn Davenport, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Rangeview and nudges their season record down to 0-4-1. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for George Washington, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Rangeview has already played their next contest, a 17-5 win against Thomas Jefferson on the 28th. As for George Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 defeat against Denver North on the 28th.
