Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gwynn Park). They enjoyed a cozy 80-66 win over the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Defeat or not, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South got some senior leadership from Jayden Webster and Jordan Exton. Webster posted 18 points and seven rebounds, while Exton put up 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Webster has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Nelson, who had 11 points.

Gwynn Park now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Gwynn Park will take on Roosevelt in a holiday battle at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Gwynn Park likes a good challenge. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Friendly at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
