On Friday Calhoun Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  an   8-7 W against the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks. While the Cavaliers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Patterson Arrant was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit. Arrant was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.
 In other batting news, Calhoun Academy let  Adalynne Fallaw and  Sherrilynn Shannon run wild. Fallaw  went 2-for-4 with two  triples, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Shannon  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  triples marked the first that  Fallaw  hit this season. Another player making a difference was  Anslea Aaron, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double.
Calhoun Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Colleton Prep Academy,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
 Calhoun Academy will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thomas Sumter Academy at 5:30  p.m.  on March 18th. As for Colleton Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Laurence Manning Academy  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
