The Fort Davis Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 36-26 to Van Horn. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Fort Davis of the 47-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Taylor Martinez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds for Van Horn. Martinez has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Bermudez, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks.
Fort Davis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Van Horn, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Fort Davis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Van Horn, they will head out on the road to challenge Fort Hancock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Van Horn is coming into the game with three straight victories on the road, so Fort Hancock is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
