The Fort Collins Lambkins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heritage Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Collins will be strutting in after a victory while Heritage will be coming in after a defeat.
Fort Collins took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They blew past Green Mountain 62-32 at home.
Fort Collins relied on the efforts of Avery Alcaraz, who scored 18 points along with 4 steals, and Jocelyn Kramar, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Paige Fry, who scored 10 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-22, which was the final score in Heritage's tilt against Chatfield on Tuesday. Heritage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-8.
Despite their defeat, Heritage saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caelan DeBolt, who scored 2 points along with 7 steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Clementine Sapp, who scored 8 points.
Fort Collins' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Fort Collins came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, sneaking past 20-17. Does Fort Collins have another victory up their sleeve, or will Heritage turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
