Immokalee is 1-9 against Barron Collier since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Immokalee will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Immokalee barely beat Palmetto Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 19-9 win on Friday. Considering the Indians have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Aniyah Martinez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Yasmin Herrera and Remey Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Herrera went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Rodriguez went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Sophia Silguero was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with three runs.
Immokalee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Barron Collier made sure to put some runs up on the board against Aubrey Rogers on Friday. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Patriots 12-11.
Like Immokalee, Barron Collier also got a great game from a two-way player: Riley Hopwood. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Hopwood was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sidney Dawick, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Macey Doupe, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Immokalee's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Barron Collier, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Immokalee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Barron Collier struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Immokalee couldn't quite finish off Barron Collier when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 6-4. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
