On Whitwell's side, Kendal Holtcamp was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Karleigh Dempsey, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Whitwell's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lookout Valley will take on Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whitwell, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Ooltewah at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
