Jordan Stapleton Delivers Best Performance of Season
Sadly, Jordan Stapleton posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead West Harrison over Picayune on Friday. Stapleton rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August of 2023. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 129 rushing yards.
This is the second loss in a row for West Harrison and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Stapleton and West Harrison will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pascagoula at 6:55 p.m. on November 1st.

Kaison Koenenn Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Hancock came up short on Friday despite Kaison Koenenn delivering his best game to date. Koenenn rushed for 202 yards and four touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Hancock's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. Koenenn will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Pascagoula on Friday.

Trey Harris Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, West Harrison had to settle for second even though Trey Harris put up the best numbers he has all season. Harris rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (103). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Harris might have his next game, a home matchup with Pascagoula, circled on his calendar. Harris rushed for 205 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry the last time he and the Panthers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Julyan Santee Turns in Season-Best Effort
Sadly, Julyan Santee posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Hancock over George County on Friday. Santee picked up a sack and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss).
This year, Santee has averaged 3.4 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 0.88 receiving yards per game. This year he is averaging 22.88 receiving yards.

Big Game from Knight As George County Won 51-41
Rounding off our Top Five is Deuce Knight of George County. Knight threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.
Knight and George County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Picayune at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st. The Rebels had to take a loss when they last met the Maroon Tide, but Knight had little to do with the loss: he rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 109 yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
