The University Cougars lost against the Freedom Patriots back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. University received a tough blow as they fell 35-17 to Freedom.
Freedom can attribute much of their success to Rintaro Pierre, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Arturo Quintana, who gained 84 total yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Freedom's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Matthew Murawsky and Vlad Zlati who racked up four sacks between them.
University's defeat was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.7 points per game. As for Freedom, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.
University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Freedom also has no future games currently scheduled.
