Morris Catholic (Denville, N.J.) both tightened up defensively, but Whippany Park managed to score enough to pull out the 14-0 victory.

The lead that Whippany Park took on a
Angelo Ciaramello touchdown run with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
Ciaramello stood out for WP in the win. The senior halfback ran for one touchdown.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Whippany school came away with a 21-0 victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Wildcats, which was coming off a 14-7 defeat at the hands of Kinnelon in its previous game.
In a Northwest Jersey - Independence game next week Whippany Park (1-1) takes on Butler, and Morris Catholic (0-2) will go up against Kinnelon also in a Northwest Jersey - Independence game.
