After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Red Bank Catholic, The Howell Rebels were happy to have found some success on Friday. They put the hurt on Lacey Township with a sharp 35-12 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Howell can attribute much of their success to Juan De jesus, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Vincent Meehan was another key contributor, rushing for 70 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Although Lacey Township took the loss, they still got scores from Nicholas Maertens and Aiden Wallace.
Howell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season. As for Lacey Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howell is on the road again on Friday and play against Hillsborough at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Hillsborough is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Lacey Township, they will head out on the road to face off against Toms River East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
