Fairfield is a perfect 3-0 against Tippecanoe Valley since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Vikings at 11:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
On Thursday, Fairfield made easy work of Prairie Heights and carried off a 12-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Madison Jones made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Preslee Caouette was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jenna Fought, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Fairfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Tippecanoe Valley never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against LaVille on Thursday. They blew past the Lancers 17-1. The matchup marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season.
Like Fairfield, Tippecanoe Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Naomi Gaerte. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Gaerte was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Tippecanoe Valley let Temperance Caudill and Elise Smith run wild. Caudill got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Smith got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Caudill has posted since back in May of 2024. Kahlyn Manns was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Fairfield's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's contest. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Tippecanoe Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Fairfield continue to outrun the ball?
Fairfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Tippecanoe Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2018, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
