The Captain Shreve Gators had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southwood 42-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Captain Shreve, who have now won three games by 25 points or more so far this season.
Quortni Beaner was a one-man wrecking crew for Captain Shreve as he threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Captain Shreve also got a significant boost from Jamarlon Otis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.
Captain Shreve's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Southwood and 2-6 Natchitoches Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Southwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Captain Shreve does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southwood is also done with their season.
