Gibbon has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Fillmore Central Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Gibbon will be strutting in after a victory while Fillmore Central will be coming in after a defeat.
Gibbon scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Giltner with points to spare, taking the game 43-28. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Gibbon has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gibbon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Sell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kassandra Trevino, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Fillmore Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Centennial 35-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fillmore Central in their matchups with Centennial: they've now lost five in a row.
Gibbon's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Fillmore Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Gibbon took a serious blow against Fillmore Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 56-28. Thankfully for Gibbon, Faith Engle (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
