Southeast Career Tech is 5-0 against GV Christian since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners will head out on the road to square off against the GV Christian Guardians at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Southeast Career Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
Last Monday, Southeast Career Tech beat Cheyenne 52-41. The victory was just what Southeast Career Tech needed coming off of a 58-23 defeat in their prior match.
Southeast Career Tech's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Morgan Sweet, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Bianca Vazquez, who scored 25 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, GV Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Needles 75-8. While losing is never fun, GV Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 94th in Nevada, while Needles is ranked 16th in California).
Southeast Career Tech pushed their record up to 11-15 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for GV Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
Southeast Career Tech beat GV Christian 45-36 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southeast Career Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
