The Central Academy Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Apprentice Academy at home to the tune of 79-39. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Central Academy as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Zach Mcdowell was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 22 rebounds. Mcdowell also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Michael Hoff was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Central Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Apprentice Academy, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Montgomery Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Apprentice Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Comenius at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
