It was a good run, but the Washburn Rural Blues unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 63-55 to Junction City. While losing is never fun, Washburn Rural can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Junction City is ranked 12th).
Defeat or not, Washburn Rural got some senior leadership from Griffin Durst and JC Heim. Durst scored 18 points, while Heim. dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Durst is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. John Hoytal was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washburn Rural will take on Hayden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Washburn Rural is facing Hayden at the right time seeing as Hayden is stuck on a 11-game losing streak. As for Junction City, they will be playing at home against Manhattan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Junction City knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Manhattan likes a good challenge.
