The Parkway South Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Oakville Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkway South is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Parkway South lost to Fox at home by a decisive 35-16 margin.
Meanwhile, Oakville scored first but ultimately less than Seckman in their matchup on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 28-7 walloping at the hands of the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, Oakville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Seckman is ranked 34th).
Despite the defeat, Oakville got a solid performance out of Joshua Williams, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Parkway South's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Seckman and 5-3 Parkway Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.7% over those games). As for Oakville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Parkway South was taken down by Oakville 35-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Parkway South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
