Westlake is 2-8 against Lehi since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Thunder are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneers at 3:30 p.m. Westlake's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Lehi's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Westlake is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Pleasant Grove, who was ranked 11th at the time (Westlake was ranked 13th). The Thunder fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-3 on Friday.

Brilynn Attebery spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Audrey Sherman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Buckley, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Lehi came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Falcons 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pioneers have posted since March 12th.
Lehi also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Abbi Harroun gave up four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mya Maughan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophie Bliss, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Lehi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Lehi pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westlake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. However, it's not like Lehi struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westlake came out on top in a nail-biter against Lehi when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
