The McNair Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 20th straight defeat. They took a 68-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elite Scholars Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
McNair's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kamar Gooden, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Kente Taylor who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Wise, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
McNair's defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Elite Scholars Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-18.
McNair does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elite Scholars Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Landmark Christian at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Landmark Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Elite Scholars Academy in Georgia (Landmark Christian is ranked 201st, while Elite Scholars Academy is ranked 460th).
