Softball Recap: Bells Drops Highest Score of Season Against Howe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bells). Everything went their way against the Howe Bulldogs on Monday as Bells made off with an 18-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Bells' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Howe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bells is set to square off against their familiar foe S & S Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bells 2.6, S & S Consolidated 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Howe will take on rival Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
