Woodland Regional has gone 8-2 against Seymour recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Hawks will challenge the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Woodland Regional has 17 wins dating back to last season, while Seymour has eight).
Woodland Regional is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Torrington get on the board and left with a 26-0 win on Monday. Give the Hawks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Ella VanAlstyne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.
In other batting news, Kate Lisowski was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla DeCrescenzo, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Woodland Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Torrington only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Seymour gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Naugatuck as they made off with a 9-1 victory. Those nine runs were actually the fewest the Wildcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Seymour pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodland Regional, their record now sits at 8-0.
Woodland Regional beat Seymour 5-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
