After three games on the road, Rock Creek Academy is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Shoals Jug Rox at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Rock Creek Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday.
Last Saturday, Rock Creek Academy strolled past Eastern with points to spare, taking the game 42-25.
Rock Creek Academy found their leader in underclassman Aleeyah Brown, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 21 rebounds. Those 21 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was jayli smith, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Shoals lost to Vincennes Rivet at home by a decisive 52-38 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Shoals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Vincennes Rivet is ranked 139th).
Rock Creek Academy pushed their record up to 7-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Shoals, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
