Charlotte Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Cannon is ranked sixth).
Charlotte Christian lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a rough 67-47 loss at the hands of Providence Day. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Charlotte Christian in their matchups with Providence Day: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Cannon entered their tilt with Chambers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Cannon managed a 91-85 victory over Chambers on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Charlotte Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Cannon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Charlotte Christian came up short against Cannon in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 71-61. Can Charlotte Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
