It was a good run, but the Bennett Clippers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 69-61 to Decatur. While losing is never fun, Bennett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Seahawks are ranked 33rd).
Decatur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davin Chandler, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brycen Coleman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Bennett's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. As for Decatur, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Bennett will take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Decatur, they will head out on the road to challenge the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wicomico knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Seahawks like a good challenge.
