While North Augusta's win against Strom Thurmond wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Rebels on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won five contests in a row.

Eleanor Brummond looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keely Thatcher, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Carley Penvose, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

North Augusta's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Strom Thurmond, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, North Augusta will challenge Gilbert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Strom Thurmond, they will face off against Belton-Honea Path at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
