The St. Mary's Pirates fell victim to the Simla Cubs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Cubs, falling 48-0. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Simla is ranked fourth).
Simla was led to victory by TJ Eurich and Caston Cox. Eurich gained 107 total yards and four touchdowns, while Cox threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Simla's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Treven Kocerha and his two sacks.
St. Mary's has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Simla, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Simla also has no future games currently scheduled.
