The Calhoun Red Devils pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-58 to Braxton County. Calhoun has not had much luck with Braxton County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Calhoun lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Bennett. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bennett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Jones, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Calhoun has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Braxton County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
Calhoun will challenge Paden City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paden City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Braxton County, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Webster County at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Webster County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Thursday.
