Banning hasn't had much luck against Carson recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pilots will face off against the Colts at 3:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Banning took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Rancho Dominguez a 16-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Pilots in their matchups with the Lobos: they've now won nine in a row.

Banning got a massive performance out of Alina Argueta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Argueta a new career-high. Ari Dominguez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Carson waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Gauchos with a sharp 18-1 win.
Giselle Pantoja looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ruby Grajeda was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Carson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.
Banning's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-15. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Carson, their record now sits at 19-3-1.
Banning suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Carson when the teams last played back in April. Can the Pilots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
