The Booker T. Washington Wildcats are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Daphne Trojans. Booker T. Washington rang in the new year with a 45-36 win over Daphne. The win made it back-to-back wins for Booker T. Washington.
Booker T. Washington found their leader in underclassman Chamiah Francis, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Francis' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Snow, who scored nine points.
Booker T. Washington's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Daphne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Booker T. Washington and West Florida will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. West Florida will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Booker T. Washington is ranked seventh). As for Daphne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
