After a string of three wins, the Westwood Christian Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 94-81 to Divine Savior Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (76), Westwood Christian still had to take the loss.
Westwood Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Vilmenay, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vilmenay has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Westwood Christian's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Divine Savior Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westwood Christian will take on Miami Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Divine Savior Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Miami Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Divine Savior Academy is ranked 188th).
