Basketball Game Preview: Anderson Trojans vs. Navarro Vikings

Anderson has gone 4-0 against Navarro recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Anderson Trojans will take on the Navarro Vikings at 8:00 p.m. Anderson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Tuesday, everything went Anderson's way against Bastrop as Anderson made off with a 47-26 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Anderson found their leader in freshman Lucy Swanson, who posted 11 points and eight assists. Those eight assists gave Swanson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mei Space, who put up five points and six steals.

Anderson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Navarro played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Crockett, falling 63-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Cougars since December 10, 2021.

Anderson pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Navarro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Anderson against Navarro in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, as the squad secured a 69-29 win. In that game, Anderson amassed a halftime lead of 43-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
