Munroe had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it five. They came up short against the Sneads Pirates, falling 18-1. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Pirates when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Munroe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adan Sweet, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Sneads, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.
On Sneads' side, John Loftus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Loftus posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Kinsey Ragans looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Creed Whitworth was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalil Garrett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Munroe is taking a road trip to challenge Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.78 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sneads, they will be playing at home against Blountstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
