St. John extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 8-8 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Elida Bulldogs. This was payback for the Bluejays, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

St. John's got a big performance out of TJ Werts, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Werts has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Drake Fittro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

As for Elida, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-13. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Elida's side, Ben Adcock was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Adcock a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, Marc Troyer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Coming up, St. John's will square off against Lima Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Elida does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
