The Timnath Cubs will take on the University Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Timnath really took it to Berthoud for the full four quarters, racking up an 81-53 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-28.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timnath to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Hemme, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Hemme a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Jacobson, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.
While University didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped back in December of 2024 as they easily beat Northridge 80-50. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timnath better keep an eye on John Elbe. He was instrumental in University's win, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Elbe is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gage Schminke, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.
University was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted five assists.
Timnath is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for University, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Timnath has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.1 boards per game. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
