The First Assembly Christian Crusaders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Evangelical Christian Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. First Assembly Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 195 points over their last three games.
Even though Lausanne Collegiate scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, First Assembly Christian still came out on top. First Assembly Christian managed a 68-62 win over Lausanne Collegiate. With that win, First Assembly Christian brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
First Assembly Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Danae Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Marlena Davis, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Georgia Ahlstrom, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to St. George's.
First Assembly Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Evangelical Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Everything came up roses for First Assembly Christian against Evangelical Christian when the teams last played on January 9th as the squad secured a 66-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Assembly Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
