The Eagle Mustangs were the 62-52 winner over the Bishop Kelly Knights when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Eagle falling 70-51. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Eagle still got an impressive performance from Cole Pugh, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Miguel Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Eagle bumped their record down to 6-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Bishop Kelly, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagle will take on Boise at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boise will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Eagle is ranked 16th). As for Bishop Kelly, they will be playing at home against Emmett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Emmett has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
