It was a good run, but the Gateway Charter Griffins unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to Lehigh on the road by a decisive 50-33 margin. Gateway Charter lost against Lehigh in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-38 score last time.
Despite the loss, Gateway Charter still got an impressive performance from Jazmyne Trubina, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizy Mendez, who scored five points.
Gateway Charter's loss dropped their record down to 5-2-1. As for Lehigh, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Gateway Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop Verot at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Lehigh will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gateway at 3:40 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
