The Grant County Braves had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They snuck past Ashley Ridge with a 43-37 victory.
Ashley Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Washington, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Clayton Everett was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Grant County's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Ashley Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Grant County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calvary Day School at 1:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Calvary Day School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Grant County likes a good challenge. Ashley Ridge will finish 2023 at home by hosting Walnut Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Walnut Hills comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
